Relationship Management: Extensive client relationship management and partnership building experience, with creative organizations of national and international stature and impact in the arts and broadcasting communities, including the top U.S. orchestras, opera companies and festivals (L.A. Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Lyric Opera of Chicago and Glimmerglass Festival), world-class literary organizations (Newberry Library and Poetry Foundation), leading public media outlets (European Broadcasting Union, Radio New Zealand and the BBC), community organizations (South Shore Cultural Center and Beverly Arts Center), music schools (Royal Irish Academy of Music) and civic bodies (City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events).

Budgets Independently drafted, monitored and reconciled project budgets (up to $125K project value) and managed annual department budget (up to $1.3 million value), at RTÉ and WFMT. Chair of WFMT Radio Network monthly departmental “budget watch” meetings with CFO and Finance Director, covering revenue and expense reporting, accruals and discussion of short, medium & long-term goals and strategy.

Grants: Wrote letters of interest, proposals and reports for public and private funding bodies in Ireland, UK and the U.S. in support of general operating budgets, projects and special initiatives (value range of $5-$400K) – including Arts Council Ireland, European Commission’s Culture Programme, ACE Foundation UK, Irish Music Rights Organization, Co. Cork Economic Development Fund, Musicians Benevolent Fund UK, Logan Foundation and MacArthur Foundation (2011-13; 2015-18); Responsibility for day-to-day grantee tasks, such as drawdown of award funds and communications with awarding body and other stakeholders re: evolving timelines, resources and deliverables.

Contracts: At RTÉ Orchestras, West Cork Music & WFMT Radio Network, 7+ years’ drafting and processing contracts of many types, ranging from speakers, performing artists and writers to publishers, record labels and a wide range of partner organizations, incl. extensive negotiating, rights clearance and licensing experience and attorney engagement. Partners incl. literary, music and cultural orgs (Poetry Magazine, Newberry Library, Irish Film Inst., LA Philharmonic, New York Philharmonic and Lyric Opera of Chicago) and civic bodies (City of Chicago).

Communications: Drafted and edited press releases, copy for print, web and social media, and program notes for festivals and concerts. Issued monthly and long-range planning schedules and notices, and project progress briefing documents and final reports to colleagues and external stakeholders.

Analysis: Collected, distilled and disseminated quantitative and qualitative data from website and podcast analytics tools, participant and customer surveys and anecdotal feedback to iteratively inform project planning, adapting talent recruitment, project design and budgeting to evolving user needs and changing resources

Team Leadership: Recruited producers, editors, hosts and composers in assembling radio production teams (up to 10 people), and have overseen team activity across 5 time zones. Through one-to-one check-ins and leading bi-weekly team conference calls, ensured project goals in sight, risks and opportunities evaluated and timelines and deliverables on track (2015-19). Similar coordination of concert and festival production teams. Also, led 5-member website team at RTÉ lyric fm, organizing rotas, liaisng with central IT and coordinating HTML, CMS and Photoshop training workshops.

Meetings Management: Chairing, devising agendas and issuing follow-up actions for weekly team and project meetings.
