Budgets: Independently drafted, monitored and reconciled project budgets (up to $125K project value) and annual department budget (up to $1.3 million value), at RTÉ and WFMT. Chair of WFMT Radio Network monthly departmental “budget watch” meetings with CFO and Finance Director, covering revenue and expense reporting, accruals and discussion of short, medium & long-term goals and strategy.

Grants: Wrote letters of interest, proposals and reports for public and private funding bodies in Ireland, UK and the U.S. in support of general operating budgets, projects and special initiatives (value range of $5-$400K) – including Arts Council of Ireland, European Commission’s Culture Programme, ACE Foundation UK, Irish Music Rights Organization, Co. Cork Economic Development Fund, Musicians Benevolent Fund UK, Logan Foundation and MacArthur Foundation; Contributed to NEH and NEA reporting and Presser Foundation proposals; Responsibility for day-to-day grantee tasks, e.g. drawdown of award funds and communications with awarding body and other stakeholders re: evolving timelines, resources and deliverables.

Contracts: 9 years’ drafting and processing contracts for speakers, performing artists, writers, publishers, record labels and a wide range of partner organizations, incl. extensive negotiating, rights clearance and licensing experience and attorney engagement. Partners incl. literary, music and cultural orgs (Poetry Magazine, Newberry Library, Irish Film Institute, LA Philharmonic, New York Philharmonic and Lyric Opera of Chicago) and civic bodies (City of Chicago).

Intellectual Property: Conversant in copyright law, music licensing practices and relevant bodies, including DMCA, fair use, mechanical and public performance rights, PROs, Soundexchange, and the processes of licensing and commissioning with record labels, composers and sound designers for radio and podcast projects.
